What is an electric bike?
An eBike is any bicycle with an electric assist, usually in the form of an electric motor with a power source like a lithium ion battery. Conversion kits are available in a few different forms, front and rear hub drive, with geared and ungeared hub motors, and Mid drives (with and without throttle). This site focuses on converting almost any bike to a mid-drive speed pedalac with a throttle. From our research we found this style to be the best balanced, most flexible, powerful and easy to install.
Can I convert my bike?
Absolutely yes you can, using this site as your guide for instructions including the parts and tools you will need to help you tackle this project. This site focuses on the Bafang 8Fun BBS02 kit and the BBSHD kit, but many of the principles of this kit are the same as other electric cycling kits on the market. This is definitely something a DIY person can handle.
